We are restoring a 19th-century family farm — the houses, the outbuildings, the cemetery, and the stories that hold them together — and opening it, slowly, to the people it belonged to all along.

Our work

More than old buildings — a place to come home to.

The McArthur Homeplace is a tangible link to the agricultural history of our region. For over a century, these grounds witnessed the changing seasons, the evolution of farming practices, and the enduring strength of family ties.

The foundation was formed to ensure this history is not lost to time. Through careful restoration, educational programming, and community engagement, we are turning the homeplace into a living museum and archival center.

The porch is open.

We host three or four open days each season. Bring a picnic, a question, or a memory. No tickets, no pressure — just the porch and whoever happens to be on it.
